The Big Listen Survey

Was a survey commissioned by Radio Centre in 2007 to find out about how the public felt about today’s radio.
The most important things they discovered were:
* Almost 90% of the UK population listen to the radio every week mainly because the radio is a parallel medium ,meaning that people are able to balance listening to the radio with their daily activities, showing that the radio can be included into every part of their everyday life.
*It is a portable device: The public are able to carry the radio with them where ever they go ,and that was only possible because of two things which are:
- Convergence : Radio can now be found in mobile phones, pens and laptops etc.
-Minimisation: The size of the radio is now decreasing
 


*Most people listen to the radio on their own, however young people prefer to listen to the radio together.

My Schedule

Changes to schedule:

I didn't need to produce a notice informing the people interviewed that I would be adding effects to their voices because me, and my group discarded that idea. We would also tell them straight away if they could answer a few questions for our media coursework, which saves them the trouble of having to read if they were in a hurry.

I was also required to return to the cinemas on Tuesday 20th December, to interview the cashier and ask him to identify the most watched movies by teenagers.

Planning Document- Equipments and Resources

To carry out my outside broadcast I will need a recording device such as an mp3 player or iPhone that has a cable and allows me to connect the device to my computer and transfer the files as mp3 from the device to the computer,or Dual microphone 24bit stereo recorder which has a high resolution audio recording ability able to supass CD quality.
I am very confident with using the recording feature of the iPhone because I have used it many times before in my music lessons.
However this will be my first time using a device such as the 24bit stereo recorder so I will need my teacher to explain to me how to use the basic controls such as record, stop ect.This will prevent me from damaging the equpiment and deleting the work done by other groups which still remain in the device.
I will also need to bring my oyster for the bus transport.
