FOX News Offers to Bribe Reporters
FOX News wanted their reporters to not broadcast information about the effects that rBGH has on humans and offered them money to not speak about the issue as well as telling them to rewrite the news in a way that did not damage either sides such as replacing the word cancer with human health implications.
Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand BBC 2 Scandal
The reason why they were suspended was because they made inappropriate remarks on a prank call to actor Andrew Sachs about his granddaughter 23-year-old Georgina Baillie. They talked about personal things and made lewd suggestions on a radio show that was publicly broadcasted.
This story was unethical because it was disrespectful to the actor and his granddaughter as well as the public. It was an invasion of privacy and damaged the image of the victim. It was something extremely inappropriate and unpleasant to hear.http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/7694989.stm
Plagiarism
In 2003 Jayson Blair who at the time was one of only two African-American editors in the history of the Diamondback newspaper and worked as a full time reporter for new york times at the age of only 27, was accused of
plagiarising at least 36 stories from another newspaper.

However the fact that he
has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder could be used to help understand his actions.
Some symptoms that could have had a effect on his actions are:
Poor judgment : so he would be not fully aware or have thought deeply about what he was doing,
Very high self-esteem : might have caused him to think that it was okay to do what he was doing because he could do it and get away with it.
However i dont believe that it can be used to justify what he did as there are treatments available that could have decrease the number of times that a problem was found on his reporters.

Journalism Ethics
These are the rules and expectations a journalist must follow.
1) The first thing they are expected to do is to always defend the right to freedom of expression of the media and the right of the audience to be informed of current issues. I think this is important because the news is the only source of information regarding the current events of the entire world that the public can rely on and trust as it covers all the areas of things that affect the public and interest them such as the economy, crime, conflicts, celebrity life, natural disasters etc.
2) They must make sure that the information they pass on to the public is accurate and fair. I think this is important so that the information spread to the public does not harm anybody and so that both sides of the argument are given equal attention.
3) They must make sure to make up for any mistakes they have done or inaccurate information they have passed to the public. I think this is important because if the information is wrong it could be potentially harmful to the person or company related to it and also because the public have the right to know the truth.
4) They must know the difference between facts and opinion. I think this is important because it allows the public to know that the information they are receiving is reliable and have evidence backing it up. Another reason is that it allows the reporter to know that if it’s an opinion then they should find the other side of the argument to make it balanced.
5) They must find evidence using honest ways and methods with the exception of investigations that have legal permission and involves the public's interest. I think this is important because it prevents journalist from forcing and blackmailing people in order to gain valuable information.
6) They must not invade people's private life unless it is something that affects the public. I think this is important because in some cases it could be really insensitive to expose personal issues such as hacking the phones of parents that had their children kid napped.
7) They must protect the people that have supplied them with important information as well as all the material received. I think this is important because in some cases the people providing this information are putting their life at risk since many people might be unhappy with the truth being made public.
8) They must resist any attempts by a third party to influence, twist or suppress information. This is important because in some cases reporters are threatened or given money to not make a particular news story public.
9) They must not use any information gathered for their own benefit in unfair ways until it has been made public. I think this is important because it allows the public to still be aware of the currents affairs even if the reporter is planning on doing something inappropriate with it.
10) They must not create any material that might be harmful or cause discrimination and hatred for a particular individual or group based on their gender, age, religion, colour, sexual orientation etc. I think this is important because it avoids conflicts between different parties as well as showing respect and consideration for the public which include people in those groups.
11) They must not advertise any companies or products in any way. This is important because the news is made up of true statements and facts and advertisements are based on things that will make the product seem amazing when it’s not always and persuade the audience into believing it is.
12) They must not plagiarize. I think this is important because it is protecting the hard work and dedication of the person who gathered that information.
4) They must know the difference between facts and opinion. I think this is important because it allows the public to know that the information they are receiving is reliable and have evidence backing it up.
