Official Facebook Page

Me and my group have created an official Facebook page for our radio newscast Deuce FM, where we post addition information about the new stories that we could not say during the broadcast, due to time constraints. We also allow our audience to share their thoughts about the issues disscussed by adding questions and allowing them to comment on our posts, as well as holding competitions every 2 weeks.http://www.facebook.com/DeuceFm

Our Script Changes

These are some of the scripts for my groups newscast, my story, the one on the <---left, and  the opening statement on the right --->.
On the day of our newscast recording we held a last meeting and decided to change a few thingn, on my script we removed one of the sound bytes because our newscast was too long, the sound byte we removed was of the teenagers expectations of the movie before she had watched it, since we felt that her views on the film after she had watched it was more important, because of this, we placed the sound byte that should have come before first in the place of the one we removed.
On the opening statement we decided to add headlines in order to conform to the conventions of a radio newscast.

Planning Document- Risk assessment

Before the christmas holidays, I will be interviewing teenagers to see how they feel about a movie that is currently in the cinema before and after they watch it.
The possible risks I might face are:
-The people I interview might not be very happy about the fact that I will add affects to their voices as well as music extracts because they might feel that they are been made fun off.
*To resolve this issue I will print a notice informing people about what I intend to do with their answers and ask for their approval.
*I will also try to interview people who look friendly.

-There might be bad weather such as, rain or snow which could increase the chances of me slipping on the floor or catching a cold.
*To resolve this I could check the weather forecast beforehand and make sure that I wear suitable clothing and sensible footwear as well as bringing an umbrella or a raincoat.

-When crossing the street I could get run-over.
*To avoid this I need to make sure I look both ways before crossing. Also incase I am listening to music I need to make sure that the volume is low so it still allows me to be aware of what is happening around me. I also need to make sure I remove my headphone when asking people questions to avoid being antisocial.

Deuce FM's Logo Update

 First Logo
In a recent meeting we held as a group, I was given the job of designing the logo for our group Deuce FM. The first design was like this:----->
However we felt that this logo did not quite fit in with the image of our radio newscast because it lacked the urban look. We also thought that this logo would be better suited for a drama club because of the images used to make it.

Second logo

In order to create the basic shape of our logo, I used an online image making software called 'imagebot'. This time I avoided using objects and shapes that were already coloured and that had too much detail on them, in order for me to be able to easily edit the design once I had transferred the image into Photoshop. This time I used a darker background colour and added neon effects to the font so that it would resemble a dance club sign and match well with the party, urban image of my group's radio newscast.

This is the new logo:

Questionnaire Results Analysis

These are some of the results we gathered from carrying out a survey on survey monkey:
In this first graph we found out that most of our target audience listen to the radio in the morning and evening, this is because during those hours students (target audience) or less likely to be in school. The option for mid-day had the lowest amount of votes; this could be because during that time most of our audiences are in school studying, instead of listening to the radio.
This has cause us as  a group to decide to air our newscast in the morning or in the evening, we will not air twice a day because one of our other questions showed that our target audience only listen to the radio once a day.

In this second graph, we found that the most popular radio stations amongst our target audiences are BBC radio, Choice FM and LBC. None of the people who took part in the survey talked about which BBC radio they were referring to, this allows me to make an assumption that perhaps some of the people were talking about BBc1 Xtra, in this case both BBC1 Xtra and choice FM have a very urban image which could suggest that our target audience are interested in music related news and would prefer our newscast to not be very serious and formal, just like those other two radio stations. However if some of the people were talking about other BBC radios then both LBC and BBC have a more serious image and cover subjects that are more serious, therefore this graph suggests to me that our audience would prefer a balance between a more urban image and a more serious image.

This graph shows that our target audience prefer a presenter in the age range of 21-25, this suggests that they would not enjoy a presenter who is very old because they might find it hard to engage with the newscast and presenter, which could prevent them from listening to our radio until the end. It also shows that  our target audience wouldn't really like a very young presenter, this might be because they might feel that the information given is not very reliable especially if the issue being discussed is not something young people within the age range of the presenter would normally be interested in hearing about.
